Students involved in the W.O. Smith private lesson program are offered one-on-one instruction once a week with a qualified volunteer teacher. Instruction is offered in the following instruments:
- guitar and bass
- drums and percussion
- brass instruments
- woodwind instruments
- strings orchestra instruments
Generally, volunteer private teachers donate an hour of their time per week, teaching two students for 30 minutes each. With the exception of piano, all current student requests have been met for the Spring 2013 Semester. If you are interested in volunteering as a piano teacher at the W.O. Smith Music School, please complete the form below and we will contact you concerning a teacher orientation.
Students must be at least 9 years old. Students must be proficient in reading music OR must have completed the Basic Musicianship class at W.O. Smith.
Private lessons are offered during school hours, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am–6:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am–12:00 noon, and they are based on the schedules of the participating student and his or her teacher.
