The Jason Scott Foures Memorial Fund
In Memory of Jason Scott Foures
Jason Scott Foures passed into life with Christ on January 16, 2026, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 54.
He is survived by his parents, Lynda K. Long and Steven H. Foures, and preceded in death by his grandparents, Alton and Lucile Long, and Mack and Gladys Foures, and cousin Russell Johnson.
Jason is also survived by many cousins and very special friends whom he kept in his heart wherever he lived.
He was a graduate of South Plantation HS, Fort Lauderdale, FL, qualified as an Emergency Medical Technician, and then earned a BS degree at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL.
Early jobs included store manager at Nashville’s Sunshine Groceries that led to managing Whole Foods in South Beach. Next, at Lee Memorial Hospital, he was a tech in the Emergency Room. Later, he became a math teacher and coached basketball and volleyball in Southwest FL. His last teaching role was in Lithia before moving back to Nashville.
Jason loved teaching, especially coaching, but his real passion was music.
In his last years in Nashville, he wrote music and worked at Ascension St Thomas West Midtown, where he met many new friends.
Jason had a golden, generous heart. After 9/11, he volunteered at the fire department in Pine Island, FL. While in Lithia, he donated many hours on stage at churches in Lithia and Zephyrhills playing his 5-string bass guitar and Moog synth.
He was at the center of our hearts. We will see Jason (Jabo) again in Heaven, no doubt with a guitar in hand and a blazing smile.
